Spanish logistics is undergoing a profound transformation<\/strong>. It is no longer simply about moving goods quickly and efficiently. Growing geopolitical instability<\/strong>, regulatory pressure<\/strong> on environmental matters, accelerating digitalisation <\/strong>and the need to strengthen Europe\u2019s technological autonomy<\/strong> are redefining the role of the supply chain. These were precisely the challenges at the heart of the 1st LOGISTOP Scientific and Technological Congress<\/strong><\/a>, held on 6 and 7 October in Valencia. The event brought together more than 100 professionals and over 60 technical presentations from companies, ports, technology centres, universities and public administrations. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n After two days of debate, five major conclusions emerged that will shape the logistics innovation agenda in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If one concept ran through virtually every session, it was the smart management of data<\/strong>. Data spaces, interoperability, artificial intelligence, advanced analytics <\/strong>and traceability<\/strong> came up again and again as essential elements for building more efficient and resilient supply chains<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The many case studies presented showed that digitalisation<\/strong> is no longer just about computerising processes. It is about sharing information<\/strong> securely<\/strong> between organisations to improve decision-making. Data spaces applied to transport<\/strong>, port interoperability platforms<\/strong> and real-time tracking<\/strong> solutions all point towards increasingly connected logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The key conclusion is clear: those who manage and exploit their data effectively will gain a decisive competitive advantage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The health, energy, climate and geopolitical crises of recent years have exposed the vulnerability<\/strong> of global supply chains<\/strong>. The congress made it clear that ensuring operational continuity has become a strategic priority for businesses and public administrations alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Presentations on critical infrastructure, logistics control towers, advanced monitoring<\/strong> and risk management <\/strong>showed that resilience<\/strong> can no longer be understood merely as the ability to react. Today it means anticipating scenarios, detecting risks early<\/strong> and having the technology to respond swiftly to any disruption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The logistics of the future will necessarily be more flexible, more visible and better prepared to manage uncertainty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The energy transition<\/strong> was another of the congress\u2019s main themes. Renewable hydrogen, electrification, alternative fuels, energy efficiency <\/strong>and onshore power supply<\/strong> for ships were among the solutions discussed to cut the sector\u2019s emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n However, one idea stood out: sustainability<\/strong> cannot be pursued at the expense of competitiveness. Emission reductions must go hand in hand with operational improvements<\/strong>, new business models<\/strong> and an energy infrastructure<\/strong> capable of meeting the needs of transport and logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In this area, ports, logistics operators, energy companies <\/strong>and industry <\/strong>will need to work together to accelerate a transition that is already under way but still faces significant technological and economic challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The last mile<\/strong><\/a> was the focus of some of the most innovative proposals presented at the event. Urban micro-hubs<\/strong>, smart lockers<\/strong>, the integration of public transport into goods distribution, data-driven optimisation and new delivery models show that the logistics transformation is also being played out in our cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The growing demand driven by e-commerce makes it necessary to find solutions that reduce congestion<\/strong>, emissions<\/strong> and operating costs<\/strong> without lowering the level of service to citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The message from experts and researchers was unequivocal: urban logistics<\/strong> will require much closer coordination between operators, public administrations<\/strong> and technology providers<\/strong>. There is no single solution, but there is one shared certainty: the urban delivery of the future will be more collaborative<\/strong>, more digital<\/strong> and more sustainable<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Beyond the technologies presented, the main lesson from the congress was the need to strengthen cooperation <\/strong>among all players in the logistics ecosystem<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Companies, technology centres, universities, ports, public administrations and industry associations agreed that none of today\u2019s major challenges can be solved in isolation.
